He served as Special Assistant in the Office of Prayer and Spiritual Awakening, Home Mission Board, Southern Baptist Convention. He has written numerous articles and several books on prayer and the life of E. M. Bounds. Darrel lives in Atlanta, Georgia. He is married to Jan, his wife of 46 years—he has two grown daughters, Sara and Beth, a son-in-law, Robert, and is “Pa” to his grandson, James.
