"Colorful, powerful, authentic—these are the right adjectives to describe this riveting story of transformation from drug-addicted prisoner to renowned pastor. Whether he is doing his burglaries, his bird, or his Bible studies, Richard Taylor's narrative is a page-turner. This is a remarkable spiritual journey." (Jonathan Aitken)

To Catch a Thief is the gripping story of how God set Richard Taylor free from a life of crime, violence, and drug addiction, dramatically transforming a young man whose life seemed to be irreversible spiraling out of control. Today he is associate minister of one of the UK's fastest growing churches.

Growing up in one of the roughest areas of south Wales with no father figure, Richard Taylor epitomized the lost youth, hoodie generation. While still in his teens he had racked up more than 30 convictions for drug abuse, drunkenness, burglary, auto theft, and violence. He had a heroin problem and crime seemed the only way to fund his habit. Prison was inevitable.

But one night in the isolation of his prison cell, as he was tearing a page from a Bible to roll a cigarette, God met with him. Instead of preparing his cigarette, he was captivated by the words of John's gospel. He began reading and did not stop for the next twenty chapters. When he finished, he knew something had happened to him that would somehow alter the course of his destiny forever.

Richard Taylor is associate minister of Renewal Christian Centre in Solihull. He was the co-presenter of the BBC series, To Catch a Thief, and has co-presented Songs of Praise with athlete Jonathan Edwards. He as appeared as a guest on numerous radio programs. Richard is a gifted communicator and evangelist.
