It thrills me to hear positive comments from people who have read my new book, Prayers That Change Things. It truly is a life-changing book, because it is based entirely on the Scriptures.
Learning to pray God's Word has changed my life in so many positive ways, because as I pray the Scriptures, I am able to focus on the Lord and His promises. While praying in this way, I appropriate His promises and apply them to my own life.
In a week or so, the next book in this series will be released. It is entitled Prayers That Change Things in Your Relationships. As with the first book, the most important thing that is changed as we pray these prayers is ourselves. Such prayer gives us the attitude of gratitude.
We must remember that contentment, as Bob Gass wrote, isn't getting what you want; it's enjoying what you've got. Godliness with contentment is great gain indeed, and such godliness is fostered as we pray the Scriptures.
Now I'm working on the third book in this series: Prayers That Change Things in Your Circumstances. As you can tell, I love the Word of God and greatly enjoy meditating on its precepts. This is how we can learn to follow God's way. David wrote, "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. . . .Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee" (Psalm 119:9-11).
Praying God's Word enables you to hide its truths within your heart, and this is what changes everything--you, your relationships, and your circumstances. Honor God's Word by meditating upon it and praying its promises into existence. God promises that His Word will not return to Him void.
Let me pray for you now by using the words of St. Paul: ". . . the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power" (Ephesians 1:17-19).
