Three Things God Cannot Do

There are at least three things that God cannot do:

1. Lie

2. Change

3. Fail

When we consider these three things that God cannot do, we conclude that God speaks only the truth, He is unchangealbe, and He can do all things.

God is the truth, and His Word is truth. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6). We must remember this and understand that Satan is the father of lies, the accuser of the brethren, and the great deceiver. The truth fully sets us free. (See John 8:32.)

God cannot change. The Bible says, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning" (James 1:17). He is the Lord, and He does not change. There's great security in this truth for every believer.

God cannot fail. Nothing is too hard for Him. "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us" (Ephesians 3:20). the power of the One who cannot fail works within us. In fact, all power in Heaven and in Earth is within Jesus, and He lives within us! Almighty power dwells within us. Does this mean that we cannot fail?

Charles S. Price writes, "That's the secret of Christian victory. That's the secret of overcoming. Laying your burdens at His feet--to leave them there and never again carry them around like an old worn-out garment. That's the message of the 'God who is enough.' Enough for whom? Why, for you, of course. Enough for when? For now, of course--and for every day of the rest of your life. That's the provision and the glory of El-Shaddai." (From a Bridge-Logos Foundation book, The Real Faith for Healing by Charles S. Price.

There are so many things that God CAN do, but three of the most important are:

1. He will lead us into all truth.

2. He will keep us secure, as we trust in His unchanging love.

3. He will always help us to overcome and be victorious in every area of our lives.
