"There is a balm in Gilead to make the wounded whole...." God wants us to live in wholeness in every area of our lives. He is the Balm in Gilead and the Great Physician of our souls and bodies.
Several of the books we publish through Bridge-Logos Foundation deal with the important topic of healing. These include books by Kathryn Kuhlman, Canon Jim Glennon, Charles S. Price, Freeda Bowers, and John G. Lake. More recently, however, we have published two very comprehensie books on the topic of healing:
1. Healing for Today by a Lutheran pastor Paul Teske is a book that shares his testimony about his miraculous healing of a stroke and powerful teaching on subjects related to healing. He answers several common questions about healing:
- Who did Jesus heal?
- Why does Jesus heal?
- How did Jesus heal?
- How do I keep my healing?
- How is the gift of healing imparted to others?
- What is the role of faith in healing?
- How is spiritual warfare involved in healing?
- How does one pray for healing?
About this book Eric Metaxas, best-selling author of Amazing Grace writes, "Healing for Today will build your faith and help you to desire what God has in store for you, too. Read it with joy."
2. God's Healing Arsenal is a very comprehensive book on healing by a professor at Oral Roberts University, Dr. Paul L. King. In the book Dr. King shares about his own healing from cancer and teaches on various subjects related to this vital topic:
- What really matters in life?
- Why does God allow pain?
- Treating the whole person.
- God's varied paths and methods of healing.
- Understanding healing as a process.
- What if my miracle doesn't come?
- Overcoming power in so many situations.
Bill Johnson, the pastor of Bethel Church, writes, "I rcommend both the man [Paul King] and his writings--they are full of the life of Christ."
These two books will answer most questions people have about healing. More importantly, they point us to the One who is our Healer--the Lord Jesus Christ. He said, "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive" (Matthew 21:22). This promise entails healing and all good things.
